1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small data files stored by your browser. Websites may also use local storage and session storage to remember temporary settings or drafts. Some of these technologies are required for a signed-in social platform to work securely.

These cookies are necessary for core account and security functionality. Blocking them may prevent login, posting, messaging and other authenticated features from working.
3. Local storage and session storage
TripMates also uses browser storage for convenience features. Examples include:
- Post drafts: text and selected composer settings may be temporarily stored in local storage so an unfinished draft can be restored.
- Chat window state: open/minimized chat-window identifiers may be remembered locally.
- Package enquiry drafts: information you type into an enquiry form may be temporarily stored so it can be restored after login or navigation.
This browser storage remains on your device until the feature clears it, it expires through browser behavior, or you clear site data in your browser.
4. Third-party cookies and storage
When you use or interact with third-party features, those providers may set or read their own cookies on their domains under their own policies. This can include:
- Google: Google Sign-In.
- Facebook/Meta: Facebook Login.
- YouTube: embedded videos may communicate with YouTube when loaded or played.
- External links: websites linked by users, companies or packages may use their own cookies after you visit them.
TripMates does not control cookies placed directly by those third parties. Review the relevant provider's privacy/cookie settings for details.
5. Analytics and advertising cookies
As of the effective date of this policy, the core TripMates website does not intentionally set third-party advertising cookies or Google Analytics tracking cookies. We may use server-side operational/security logs that do not depend on advertising cookies.
If we later introduce optional analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and provide consent controls where required by applicable law before using them.
6. How to control cookies and browser storage
- Use your browser settings to view, delete or block cookies/site data for TripMatesClub.com.
- Logging out ends the authenticated TripMates session.
- You can revoke Google/Facebook authorization through your provider account settings.
Deleting cookies/local storage may sign you out, remove saved drafts/preferences or cause certain features to reset.
